Made a compulsive purchase for the kids one late evening
F-One Bandit S2 8m and the bar suggested on the browser was North Navigator Control System
I clicked - basket - done
However the North Bar is a low V - The Bandit S2 wants a High V
Is this a huge deal?
Should I stop being daft and send the bar back for a replacement?
Thanks

Low V design is here to stay and has been taking over the share of bar “market” steadily. I’d keep low V bar if that kite works with it. Like for Core - the low V is perfectly fine and I wouldn’t advise anyone for high-Y

I had bandits for years. The ten meter and smaller kites always flew better on my ozone bars which are low v. They became Less twitchy and bigger range. You will be absolutely fine!

You can add a Duotone V-Distributor to a Low-V bar to make it High-Y. I put some PVC tape around the stationary line to help protect it against the V-Distributor. Re-tune your bar after adding the distributor. Works good.

It works great on the low V but if your curious about the higher V position which will make the kite a little more responsive and loop faster then use the Duotone V distributor, BUT you need to shield the line its clamped onto and its very important to use a much longer sleeve on the line that slides through the smooth ring of the V distributor, especially if you leave the high Y in place, another point to remember is to ensure the V distributor is clamped to the fixed front line and the free running flag out line runs through the smooth hole side. but read on as it gets a bit more complicated not safe to use for many bars
I repair - modify and replace lines for most bars on almost a daily basis, and my main bar jobs are click bars, and get them in very regularly to replace the line sets, some kites demand high Y split points, the most noticeable is small RRD kites, low V points on them robs the power, makes them gutless, but bandits will fly fine on both high or low, but only trying them in high - medium - low or super low as click bars can offer will give you the feel you may prefer, as it will feel different, I can of course convert most bars to high Y but you need to be aware not all bar systems can be used with the V distributor aa any protection sleeve added to prevent wear on the free running flag out line may well jam at the standard bars lower split point Y point and many have a very small hole for the line to run back through down to the quick release centre hole where some holes through are also very small, so be careful as not all bars will work by just clamping on the the Little Y distributor, other modifications like a bar stop ball may be needed to prevent flag lines jamming with added anti wear materials on the the line.
