17 Dec 2021 - 30 Jan 2022 (extended)

🚦 GREEN LIGHT FOR TUESDAY

The final stop of the 2021 tour is about to happen and with it we will crown our first ever Big Air Kite League Champion! It’s been one crazy year, with 5 stops to our tour – a world’s first for big air kitesurfing! We’re looking forward to wrapping up 2021 in style with some great conditions. It’s bizarre that we’re a month into our window period and we still haven’t received the conditions we’re looking for. Luckily the forecast for the last 10 days of January in Cape Town looks promising. Let’s hope it builds and delivers those strong winds our riders long for!

Why is the last stop of 2021 happening in 2022?
We have the discovery of a new Covid Variant in South Africa at the end of November 2021 and the media's reaction to thank for that. But we are resilient!

We received entries from riders from all over the world. The entry videos were judged by an unbiased panel of judges.
Congratulations to everyone who is invited to compete at this prestigious event. The competition is incredibly stiff and we are so excited to see the riders pushing their limits, as well as the limits of big air kitesurfing.

Will Janek do what it takes to maintain pole position? Or will Andrea and Giel have something to say about that?

At least one of those days should have 30 knots in the afternoon. Pity they can't do it tomorrow, we will have strong SEaster and 3.5m swells and an incoming tide, but that's not really the kind of ramps they need.

Forecasts have been really difficult in the last month. The next few days will paint a clearer picture.

We're calling a yellow light for Monday. Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday are all looking promising. We will see how the forecasts develop in determining which day or days we will run the competition. It is possible for us to run it on one day if we get an early start. This is the preference.
