Hi all. I’m an intermediate kiter and weigh about 230lbs (104kg). I’m thinking of picking up a big kite for wave riding in light wind. I have a 2016 North Juice that I’ve been using and it gets the job done but I have to work the kite a lot. I’m looking at either a 2021 Duotone Juice 15m or a 2021 Cabrinha Contra 15m. Which one would be better for waves? Or would they be about the same? Can’t afford Aluula or D/lab. I have a 2021 Duotone Juice 13m that I like but some days I need a little extra oomph. Any info would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

The Juice 15m is a very quick kite for its size, an attribute that is super important for wave riding. I did ride the Juice 15 in the light wind of Dubai and surprised how smaller it feels, very fast for the size. Don't know much about the Contra...

For me it's the other way around. I do like my Contra 15 a lot. Especially for it's good drifting abilitys combined with quick responsive and fast turning. In some points it's quite similar with smaller Cabrinha Drifter sizes. In my opinion it suits very well for light winds and waves.
I switched my quiver vom Cabrinha to Naish a few years ago, but stick to the Contra for these light wind days and recently upgraded to the 2021 model. Unfortunaly I have never ridden the Juice in comparison.
So I leave you still in unconclusion, guess you have to try them both yourself.
