so i noticed the top of my OR jester was soft, and then i saw a crack on one rail. then on a hot day the bottom totally bubbled out! its hard to see in pics , but i attached anyway.
im still riding it, but i think the glass is delaminated/broken from serial shitty landings.
so, before i rip it apart id like to get a backup board.
prefer similar spec; short 5,'1' or so. also would like some concave on bottom. but im too cheap to buy a 1000$ board.
I sold my Jester after discovering the magic of the Wave Bandit Performer 4-10. It's an amazing board with tons of advantages:
I see you have straps though so it might not be for you, but if you want to save money and get a better board that's more fun to ride and safer give it a look. Loads more videos of me riding them on my channel, it's my go to board for any session with over 12 knots of wind.
Hey Slappysan,
I enjoy your vids but many of them seem like intense and harrowing solo sessions in dicey conditions of the lower Vancouver mainland. Makes me anxious about my big pre-retirement move from the predictable storms fronts, expansive beaches and group sessions here in the great lakes around Toronto to Canada's left coast!

Haha, yeah, I definitely get out solo a fair bit but many of my sessions there are plenty of others out there they just often aren't riding in the same exact spot as me. I'm a real wave hunter and due to the fact that I ride the sturdy and cheap Wave Bandit Performer 4-10 I'm often going in to places others steer clear of. A lot of time there are 10-20 other kiters going back and forth at the launch but where I end up is often 2 km upwind of the launch so I'm often alone.
To be fair though most of my summer time sessions are tranquil 10 knot skimboard or foil sessions in warm sunny conditions so they aren't all crazyness.
from the video you can see that the foam appears to have split in the middle. i am not sure how to fix this. any ideas? i could inject epoxy and clamp back together.. i am not sure what else to do.
Wish we could have hooked up when I was in the U.S. If you know of anyone traveling to Southern Baja who could take them back to you, I have the boards you saw on Craigslist. just hanging on a rack in my garage. I bought an Appletree Malus Domestica, and just don't use them anymore. For me, the Malus is a much better fit to bridge the gap between good waves and flat days.
