Replacement for my 2017 Slingshot Celeritas

Postby vela99 » Sun May 01, 2022 4:38 pm

Hi

My current 2017 Slingshot Celeritas 5.8 has almost 250 sessions on its back and still looking good. But realistically, the day will come on which it will break and it will be rather sooner than later.

I tried the 2019 Slingshot Celero 5.8 and liked it a lot. The issue is that I do not find this board anywhere. There are a lot 2020 and but they are build differently and are, I heard, significantly less robust.

My question is, does anyone here know if 2021 and/or 2022 are more robust, like the 2019 and prior years?

I value robustness more than light weight..

Thanks

I found the same issue with the Tyrant. Found one at Windance used in great shape. Packed away for the future . Ck. and post on Northwest kiteboarding forums, Very linked to SS boards ,kites, etc .

ELI,

seems I am not the only one that observed or found out about the difference in durability.
(As I live in Europe purchasing at Windance is not an option for me. Thanks though!)

I have a lite weight custom kite Sboard, and a high volume SB for strapless .The new lite weight boards have thier place with strapless. I abuse the strapped Sboards with jumping them and trade weight for durability .Good luck

I also use two sb but both with straps. The Slingshot for marginal days and jumping and another more radical shape board with a nice flex for surfing.
