Hi, I got brand new Duotone NEO SLS 2022. Sadly after unpacking I noticed poorly glued and not nicely stitched safety patch and next to it - small rip in sheet. I contacted dealer (3500km from my current) vacation place.
After taking pictures and videos of kite with attached factory label - so unused.
I was approved of only 15% discount from Duotone. Which doesn't seem much to me.
It is small rip - but from "premium" priced kite of over 1200€ it is big disappointment. And especially of storied with fault bladders, kite bars and etc. I 'm not sure If I trust after over 10 years of being former North and now Duotone brand.
Anybody experienced something similar?

Out of interest - why didn't you check it over before going on vacation?
Assuming you are living in the EU then you have a right to reject online deliveries within a certain time period (normally 30 days). I'm assuming it was online as the obvious thing to do would have been to drive back to the shop and get them to sort it out for you. I can't believe any shop wouldn't sort out something like that for you.
A black and white attitude to manufacturing defects is going to really limit your life. Don't ever buy a new house! The things that come up in snagging lists would make you pull your hair out. Don't drive a car either. If you look through all the manufacturers with safety recalls....

If you are in vacation now, then you need the Kite now!
Super unlucky Situation.....
Option 1: put a piece of repair Sticker... And Go kiting and have fun with a probably super good Kite! And DO NOT THINK ABOUT IT ANYMORE during vacation.
Option 2: start a big issue:
You can't use your Kite. Send it Back.....
Option 3: write to duotone.... And still Go kiting....
I am Not sure what you mean with
"poorly glued and not nicely stitched safety patch"
Good luck!
Life is too Short to get a Heart Attack because of Bad Qualität Premium Kite Gear.....
And yes..... I still get angry, if I Open new stuff, and it is Bad Quality.
- Board with dent
- Board with broken finbox after one time used
- Kite loosing Air
- super Bad spliced lines. (Will never buy a new bar again)
- Resin in all the holes for Screws.
- new Kite with small Rips
- super Bad packed Kite with a Lot of Wrinkels.
- Fin Not fitting in Finnbox.
- Screws Missing for new Board

Feel for you. Obviously unlucky.
Still can't believe how some shops are dealing with this. I would have said patch it up - enjoy your holiday riding it - and we will replace it when you get back. Doing so would have meant a loyal customer for life (I guess). The kite could then have been sold as a "demo kite" or whatever for a couple of hundred euros less by the shop.

15% off? Are they flipping joking, you can ask shop and they will give you 25% on regular and 15-20% on SLS one without negotiating

That hole is from the zip and way kites are packed new with paper and tied it’s impossible to catch in the zip so my guess is he did unwrap it and put it back in bag and caught it in zip before using

Could be yes. Why I hate these new style bags. Completely paranoid closing mine. Much easier with the older bags.

Did you buy the kite from a shop or the brand?
A shop. So why aren’t you dealing with them? The margin they earn is for them to deal with issues

I’ve never closed a kite in a zip myself but had several students do it and the damage looks exactly like that
