Kite Trekking with a regular wing foil board?

Does anyone know how well a regular sup or wing foil board would work for the trekking purpose? What would be the best type of the board or foil? The idea in short is to be able to be on the board while water launching a foil kite (e.g.

Also, the float will allow long range self rescue by paddling.
