Core Union Pro 4 pads - pinky pressure

Postby duddd » Wed Jun 08, 2022 10:56 am

Opening this topic to see if anybody is using these pads and if they have problems with pressure on or nearby the pinky finger.

I have been riding the Fusion for a some months with my old Duotone Entity straps, which i love them, but because of different inserts, i can only mount them on only one setting and my stance was not the best and i looked way to bow-legged (or bandy? )

I bought the Core Union Pro pads and finally had two sessions on them.
My foot size is 9.5 US and i bought the M's.

First day i kited for only 1 hour due to not much wind and i could feel a lot of pressure on both feet pinky area.
I would stop and move the "cushioning area" on the far left so i don't push into the plastic (picture attached).
After 5 minutes maybe, the "cushioning area" would move up and i am pushing again into the plastic.
After doing tricks or jumping and coming in hot, it's such a bad feeling when you stomp a landing into the plastic.

Second day i kited for about 2 hours and on one of my feet i had skin getting peeled of my pinky finger.
I had to do the exact same thing as the day before.. Every 5 minutes i would stop and move that cushioning area in order not to push into the plastic.

I'm pretty sure that the problem is with me and not with the straps. It's Core's 4th generation of these straps and i haven't seen people complaining here about this problem (using the search i actually saw one guy saying something similar).
I have a friend who has the same problem, but with only one foot and he wears 9 US.

Is the size not correct? What am i missing here in setting the pads?
Anyone riding these straps and has the same problem or has a fix?
I like the fit and the soft feel on the heel pad, but i cannot kite like this for more than 10 minutes.

My advice if you have a friendly dealer swap for the Large, those mediums are really aimed at sizes smaller than your 9.5.

I had that issue with my old slingshot straps, couldnt work around it. I moved to the Carved straps, and they're super comfortable, but not everyone loves the click in system. Hope you get it sorted.

Hello,

I am looking for a Core board with the Union Pro 4 bindings.
I could have the same problem for the size of these straps because I wear a 8,5 US (42 EUR). So I suppose I am at the limit between the M and the L sizes.
Which size can you recommend me ?

@duddd : for you and your friend (in 9 US), did you change for the L size ?

Thanks in advance !

Haha, had the same issue with 44EU size riding a Core Choice for testing with too small bindings (M).
