Thanks for you answers! Since I organize kite trips, i'm mostly looking for a reccommendation to give to people... but it looks like it all depends on the country of origin of the kiter, making this a little bit more complex for me to reccomend...

Yeah, so what you *could* do as a service is look at your customer base countries of origin.
If the majority come from 1 or 2 countries you could have a look at what the rules are there and provide just those and have some common guideline for the others:
eg make sure you have health insurance and liability.
I would guess you could offer liability insurance as a trip organizer as well. There must be parties providing this for businesses.

I would let them sign a waiver, make 100% sure that they can't make me liable for injuries and tell them in advance to check their insurance contracts for kitesurfing injuries/3rd party liability. Nothing specific too not answer boring detail questions or to somehow get blamed for bad, outdated or insufficient advice. At the end of the day they are grown ups and have to make their own decisions in that regard or in case of kids the guardian.

Insurance is a load of shit and a waste of money that only seems logical and reasonable to western cultures to pay a fee for a worst case scenario that will most likely never happen and when it does happen the insurance company will likely fight any claim after you pay your deductible. There are certain insurance that is normal and logical to have. Base health insurance and car insurance for example. At this point they will sell you insurance on anything and everything because people buy it. There is a reason why insurance companies are some of the most profitable companies in the world, and they don't get rich buy paying people
I agree that it depends on the company. My home bank is providing basic travel insurance (1000 EUR on personal items, 2500 euros traveling costs like plane tickets hotel or car rental, 500k medical cover and so on) and it`s free for me and my family with my Gold MasterCard credit card. And if I want to add extreme sports or I have some expencive equiptment like laptops, drones, cameras or lets say a golf bag full of kite gear then I just need to pay a little more. For example if any accident happens on offiacl track (for example ski track on mountain) then the basic insurance will cover it and only if I want to go offroad I need to take extra insurance cover. Support is 24/7 and hustle free. I`ve had at least 3 times where I`ve had to make a claim and every time it`s been just few days when money is on my bank account. I once even asked insurance broker that in case if lets say I lose my gopro while snowboarding or kiting, then how do I prove you that I realy lost it and did not just lie to get money from insurance. Broker answered that first of all they are a bank and then insurance company and at the end of the day they excpect their costumers be honest with them.
On the other hand my friends went on a trip to Spain and all their belongings were stolen from rental car. They lost about 5000 euros worth of their belongings and two of the 4 did not have any insurance, one had bank insurance like me and he was okay and one had some dodgy 3 party insurance and just like you said they fought that claim and they covered only like 50 % that it was on the contract. Many of my friends have had problems with that same insurance company as well ( Lithuanians your PZU insurance is a pice of crap)
Another example is from this year, where my friends was in Mexico and he got a realy bad inflammation on his ribs and had to travel with a taxi several times to hospital in a city furder away from him. Obviously in mexico you don`t get any recipe from a taxi driver. But still insurance company was okay if he only said a amount he think he spent on taxi. He had that bank travel insurance.
So I think it`s always cheaper to pay a little for a insurance coverage (even if you never use it) than to be sorry.

Great if it works for the best but it rarely is needed. Depends on how much you travel, I'm a yacht chef spent most of the last 15 years living around the world then living in the cheapest countries I can find for 4 months a year. Worked in Mexico last year for 6 months, needed dental work, it was cheap enough that it wasn't even worth the time or trouble to go through insurance. 175.00 to each their own, but travel insurance is a western European thing, not saying its bad. The US sells insurance to cover your insurance. I prefer the simple life not paying a made up westerinized idea to give someone peice of mind. Your still in the same shitty situation, maybe I'm more careful/ street smart knowing I'm on my own to watch my stuff and try to not put myself in compromising situations when insurance would ever be involved. And when I did/ do something stupid traveling and lose a little money, it's cheaper than insurance

As others have mentioned, depends where you are and who you get it from. I am paying roughly €50/$50/£42 a year for insurance that covers paragliding/diving/kiteboarding/White water rafting/ trekking and hiking to 5000m/skiing/sea kayaking (buoyancy must be worn) and a host of other activities. Liability/theft and med-evac etc. Have claimed on it too which couldn't have been easier and a welcome support for the loss of 2k worth of electronics when I had only called to see if they could recover photos!
Experiences may vary!

Please tell me the Company. Going on a 2 month trip to Egypt and Madagascar. Not a fan of insurance but for 50 bucks/euros sounds to good to be true????????

It's the bank I have been banking with for around 30 years.
We have a good relationship.
Speak to your bank.

Banks and insurance are 2 separate things in the US. I live in the Bahamas with my job. In the out islands no so there is no doctor. Kind of need to be self sufficient and have basic medical supplies on the boat
