Fireball elastic retention cap on modular spreader bar

Postby beebad » Thu Jun 16, 2022 12:20 am

I removed the spreader bar on my modular rope to replace the rope for a different use…. Now, the fireball retention cap doesn't have the tension it did. I didnt untie anything but it isnt right.

Anyone know how this is suppose to fit. Should have taken a GD picture.

Thank you

For the official NP bar it goes around the back through the holes in the middle.

I appreciate your response! Problem is my bar is different from Cabrinha. It has a bar up the middle. I didnt untie anything when I replaced the Cabrinha “rope”, i just wanted a place to hook my safety line that was getting snagged on the rope.

I used it yesterday by girth hitching and after the session i was sooooooo lucky i didn't have a downward pull on the fireball or my kite would become separated from my harness, I cannot go out until this is resolved.

Instead of an overly-complicated proprietary untrustworthy bar, why not switch to something that has been proven to work that you don’t need to modify and you can trust? Just asking.

Balderdash!

I have used the fireball for over a year and it is by far the best system, for me. It is absolutely trustworthy and I would not switch back to the fktup foul hook system with the chicken loop. i DO NOT USE THE ROPE SLIDER, ooops, so I changed it to just a loop I can hang stuff on it.

The only issue I had was being a dumb FK and not taking a picture before I made the Mod.

But, thank you for responding with your input.

BTW, have you ever used the fireball? Just asking.

Hey man, thanks to your close up pictures and elastic orientation, i think i was able to position the elastic in the only , i hope, other way to have the cap exert upward pull and hold the fireball in place.

I switched to fireball in 2017 and I've never looked back. So much better than CL and so much better than rope slider IMO.

I'm sure most of the people that bash it have never tried it.

Exactly….they don't know what they are missing.
The rope slider spreader was all I could find at the time. It is so easy to attach my bar to my harness and remove it. No more foul hooking. I converted my other bar to FB as a spare, but i do not miss the chicken loop or the donkey dk whatsoever. I think my issue is solved. I wrote adventure sports and cabrinha 2 days ago with no response. Thanks again.

What does the fireball give you over a chicken loop attached to a closed loop (Mystic Freeride spreader bar) or a rope slider setup? Sincere question. Thanks.
