Regardless of the claims I wonder at what financial costs the new canopy material will come.
Really hope its not going to add a lot of costs but we can assume it probably not going to be cheap.
10M Rise already costs 3K Euros.
Add some fancy new canopy fabric are we looking at what? 4K, 5K?
If the kite can live 3x as long with little or no degradation and higher performance it might be worth it but it is a hell of an up front investment not many people want or can afford.
I would also not be comfortable leaving it on the beach or even in the car it's not great.
So I really hope the canopy stuff is actually less expense added to the kite then the Aluula replacement for the Dacron tubes and they will come out with a "budget" line.
E.g. with the new canopy and less expensive Dacron tube, either a new cheaper/heavier Aluula fabric (this is in the pipeline) or even in their current HL construction.
I think it depends a little more than just price. If you can 'genuinely' have a one kite quiver then its a little easier to self justify. I mean who wouldn't want to have a single kite in the house for storage/less boring conversations about how much kit you have?
The guys locally who have the A-Roams nearly have a one kite quiver - but primarily because they focus on foiling so they will foil till 20knots and then switch to a surf board/twin tip. A powerful 10m with a really good top end could be a really nice option. 10 - 17 knots on a foil and then onto a twin tip to 30 knots would be a real one kite quiver. I know existing kites come close but my experience is that they are still all a bit of a compromise (my Evo-sls 10m can do the twin tip but isn't the one I'd reach for given a choice on the foil, my 9m ultra is great on the foil but isn't so great on a twin tip as the wind picks up and my 10m soul is fine for both twin tip and foil but top end on a twin tip is a bit lower and though you could probably drop 10 an 8 for wind range, launching/landing in strong winds gets complicated for those strong wind days and whenever I fly it on a twin tip I still wish I had an LEI so I can loop it)

I got a chance to fly a Flite 14.5 in Aluula this summer, fantastic kite. Also got a chance to fly the 12m HL version of the Flite while in OBX, it’s also a great kite. So, both are great kites and I’ve been an OR customer in the past, but I’m not even considering their kites. Their pricing is fucked.
My friend’s Aluula Flite is away for repairs right now and Aluula isn’t easy to repair. Until the ridiculously overpriced kites are indestructible a one kite quiver is a recipe for sitting on the beach.

At 72 kg, if I could replace all of my kites with just a two kite quiver - 5M and 9M - for under $7000, I think I'd be pretty tempted.
9M for super light wind foiling, light wind surfing, and moderate wind twin tipping.
5M for moderate wind foiling, high wind surfing, and nuking wind twin tipping.
IMHO I think Ocean Rodeo is taking a big chance by positioning itself as an ultra-premium brand. To me the question is how do they best use the new materials and are they going into equally great designs? Just making a kite or wing lighter is not enough.
