Naish Apex binding sizing small or big?

Postby bramber3018 » Wed Nov 23, 2022 2:10 am

Hi there,

I am looking to replace my twin tip bindings and am thinking of getting the Naish Apex binding, but not sure whether to go the small one (us 5 to 12) or the large version (us 9 to 15?

My foot size is US11 (Width "C") so could either be near the top of the range for the small one, or near the bottom of the range for the large one.

Which binding should I get, big or small?

How does the current version of the apex compare to the original apex (white one)? I tried that once and it seemed ok if pulled the straps to their maximum tightness (my feet are flatish).

Any other binding that would fit my foot size well?

I mostly kite in summer, with the occasional winter kite in 2 to 3 mm booties max.

Cheers.

I would get the bigger ones, we have them on a board and they are not huge for me with 11.5-12 size in shoes. Just really comfy. The old apex I could get in but was not comfy on the sides.

Larger size. Works better with booties when it gets cold, if you use them.

Apex are among the best straps out there, their suggested size range has some cushion because they are so comfy and adjustable. Loved mine until I wore through my Stomp, then switched brands but miss the Apexes.

I'm size 11 US and I bought the large and I had to set it as tight as it would go to fit. It did stretch a bit after a couple of weeks of riding so I had to readjust a few times. I have a fairly wide foot with high arch.
ps this is my 2nd pair of Apex binding although they are now super expensive, my old pair is 5 years of frequent use and it looks+rides like new, I was so impressed by the quality I forked out the extra dough for my new board. So still highly recommended.

It's a pity there isn't a "medium" size in between small and large, that would be perfect!!
