Yes, pretty amazing this place has been around so long. I remember when I first joined (September 2002), I was overjoyed at the ability to learn/share about all things kiteboarding. The funny thing is that back then, the kite mags and pros were quick to ridicule those of us on the forum as kooks and nerds…that we should just get off the internet and just ride. As if we weren’t doing both!
It’s cool to see that while a lot of people have sort of come and gone over the years, so many of the early adopters (Peter, TheRussian, etc..) are still here and giving good advice and helping others. The sense of community here is one of the best, IMHO. Even amongst those that are seemingly argumentative by nature or the ones that have had to change their ID b/c they were a little too rude sometimes (you know who you are
).
