Sentry bar sheeting range

Postby leeuwen » Mon Nov 28, 2022 1:24 pm

Can anyone tell me what the sheeting range is on the Slingshot Sentry bar in centimetres?
I would like the auto-untwist and this one seems to be the better options.
Sadly almost none of the vendors seem to list the sheeting length.

Thx

Mine Sentry v1 has 48cm sheeting length.

Thx, its a little shorter then I would have liked.
My stopper is currently set a little over 60cm which would have been the ideal sheeting range for me.
Guess I will set my stopper to 48 cm for a bit to see if its acceptable enough before deciding to buy one.

What bar has 60cm sheeting range? Would be interested in bars with a lot of depower for my foil kites. The new Airush Ultra bar V3 is specified with 60 cm of travel but has no trimming system. Are there other alternatives?

I currently have the OR shift bar.
It has back trim so you can set the set the stopper up to 90cm or something stupid long like that.
Only real issue is that it has no auto-rotate and OR in general it's not widely available.

DT Clickbar also had a big sheeting range, again backline trim, but I really did not like that one for foiling.
(The square tube has to much resistance for my taste and had some other issues but those are mostly solved in the latest edition)

Just had a look at it.
Interesting concept and like the simpleness of it.
It would certainly work for some of my sessions but in reality I still use the trim with my 60cm bar.
The main issue is that once you hit the upper range of your kite its not really comfortable with riding with the bar all the way out.
Also the other way around: its not nice to keep the bar sheeted all the way in.

If it had been a significantly cheaper bar I might have been interested but sadly the simpler design did not come with a lower price.
Since it also doesn't provide auto-untwist I much rather have the shift bar I currently use, that does provide trim, that goes for a similar price...

The Cabrinha Recoil bar looks like a good option to maintain having the depower strap (unlike the Airush Ultra). I've been looking at this set-up as well. My only gripe is it does not have the click-in type CL like other brands are now offering. However they do offer various sizes of CL's, so at least that's nice to have available.

Some have modified the Recoil bar as well.
