Duotone evo sls 2023

Hi all,
Have you got any news on evo sls 2023 such as:
- launch date
- differences
- pictures

i was wondering if change form evo sls 2022 is worth (at
least from a theoretical point of view)

I don´t know anything about evo sls 2023 vs 2022, but I know that there will be an evo DLAB Aluula coming out soon (better prepare your wallet!) and I guess there will also be a SLS version and a normal EVO version around spring this year.

My hope is that they make it more radical again like the evo SLS 2021. The 2022 SLS was a bit more forgiving, but the 2021 was much more sportier, almost like a dice, and it just loops so well.

Normal version of Evo is carrying over from 2022 so both 2022 and 2023 regular Evo are the same. No need to panic and go upgrade Evo '22 to '23 people on the beach will not be able to tell the difference.

thanks all, I assume there will be some differences but i could not find any leakage. last year we were able to see colours/pictures 2-3 months before launch date

I recently heard the designer from Duotone in a German podcast saying that the 2021 Evo SLS was too radical for most people's liking and they reversed that on purpose for 2022 and made the kite more forgiving. There won't be a more radical version of the EVO SLS since the EVO is supposed to be the freeride kite for everyone.

I want to confirm, I have the same information unoficially from more Duotone sellers.
There is no structural difference between Duotone Evo SLS 2022 vs 2023.

You get the same shape, same material.
What will be new: new colors + new higher price tag
So no reason to upgrade, if someone owns Evo SLS 2022.

so basically 2 out of 3 will be the same, from a commercial point of view they would benefit from having just 2 model 1 as it is 1 brand new.

Have you seen some pictures in the website/forum of 2023 evo sls? i coud not find them

We’ve seen video of Lasse Walker and Andrea Principi on the evo dlab in South Africa.

The regular evo has essentially been on a two year cycle and was released in March of last year. The evo sls was shortly before that.

I expect we will see sls and dlab evo in the next 2-3 months.

I think it is interesting that Andrea Principi was using the standard evo 6m in competitions and lasse walker the evo dlab.

I wonder if that will impact future development of the evo kite line.

Yes, you are basically right. But you can look at it from different perspective:

I see it like:
Evo + Evo SLS are the main stream = affordable kites, which most people will be buying. On top of that Evo serves as baseline, so the the more expennsive Evo SLS has something to compare with and look better.

Evo DLab will be luxurious type of kite = extra light and extra expensive because of the Aluula material, which is also quite expensive and requires special sewing process, developed specially for Aluula. Buying DLab is like buying expensive car - 90% of people won't do that, so sales won't be huge. Existence of DLab is part of the prestige, that Duotone participates in the competition for the world-lightest kites.

If you think like the Duotone sales manager, it makes sense.
- Evo = base standard kite, for people that need to save money (and makes Evo SLS look better)
- Evo SLS = premium kite for most people
- Evo DLab = extra expensive luxury car, only few people buys it;

And another thing, if you go smaller than 7m you get a regular evo.

The newest 6m evo classic is a really good kite.

And one thing duotone did is use a lighter leading edge material in the newest classic evo so the weight difference between evo sls and evo is not as big as it was.
