I used to take my phone out with me inside a baggie inside a running vest holder...but even after screen locking it, it kept pocket dialing people including my wife who thought I was drowning a few times.

I read a story about a a fog-bank rolling in combined with a wind direction change that left a kiter stranded miles out to sea without being able to tell which direction he was headed. I went ahead and picked up one of these as a wearable for solo ocean runs: ... or-beacon/

I wear it inside one of these (over my wetsuit under my impact): ... /615864834

You do have to register it with your local rescue services but that was free after purchase

Pretty cool one good reason for the upgrade. I just read this morning that people skiing hard are triggering the crash detection so not perfect yet I guess!

well... I'll be waiting for an Android implementation for this.

iPhones are a rip-off in Brazil. @Toby knows what I mean
