In many manufacter kite webpages appears that the specific kites for foiling with 0 or 1 strut, have a wind range which not always its true.
I am interested in foiling about 12-13 knots and I saw for example that Cabrinha contra 5m starts in 11knots. My weight is 70kg. Is it realistic to kite with a LEI 5m in such a low wind?
And with a 5m UFO?
Thanks!!

11 knots is not "very low wind". Most kites, LEI or foil, will fly and relaunch fine in 11 knots.
But you will need some skill to get going. So it depends on you skill and also on your foil. But skill is more important. Once you are up on the foil it fine. But starting is the problem.
Yes, it is realistic/possible to foil with a 5m kite. I am not sure, if it is a good idea, though
I use a ~10m LEI (single strut) or ~8..9m foil kite in 11..15 knots. But I am Beginner in Kitefoil.

The other day I saw a foiler out on a 6 in such winds.
Warm air, which has less power.
Maybe same weight as you…maybe a bit more.

I have foiled many times on a 5M. My 5M Naish boxer will get me going in about 12 knots. The UFO should be the same or a bit better they are grunty kites.
One thing I will say is the weight of the kite is important. I tried foiling with a pretty heavy 3 strut kite and that didn't work very good. A 5M kite with many struts and a lot of weight doesn't have a lot of surface relative to it's weight and the kite would drop from the sky like a rock below 15 knots. Buying a small regular kite on sale for foiling is not a good idea.
The Boxer is brilliant the wind range is huge like 12 knots to 30 knots on a big foil and In have used it in close to 50 knots on the snow and with a twintip. The UFO will have less high-end but maybe a bit more low-end power.

Just to give you an idea. I'm 74kg and can foil with a Boxer 9m at 9k. My wing is 850cm^2.
I also have a 6m kite (SST) but can't foil with this kite at 11k, thus, I'm assuming this 5m for Contra-1 at 11k is too optimist or I'm still too noobie in hydrofoiling
Maybe using a big surf wing would be possible but I don't like these huge wings...

I would say that if you have to ask the 5m is probably way too small.
Most people would be out on 9 or 10m in 11kn in my experience.

Start with ~10qm in 11 knots and go down from there. If you want. Me personally, I don't know why to make it more difficult and slow by using a very small kite, but if you want to, why not. OK, very light foil kites like ufo or maybe Peak or Hybrid may be a very good thing in waves.

Yes absolutely I would also take my 9M Boxer for this kind of wind but the question was is it possible and is the manufacturer lying. It's possible for me on my 5M around 12 knots not ideal in the lulls I would not be able to get going if the contra 5M is a bit more powerful then it's in the realm of the possible.

Manufactures should include other parameters on the hydrofoiling wind range table.
5m Contra-1 for a 75kg rider @ 11k might be possible for a > 1200cm^2 surf wing
In fact, hydrofoiling manufactures and sellers should also inform the speed range for each wing profile besides the A/R, chord, surface area, etc...
Our comparisons are mostly based on feeling or against a "benchmark standard wing" like the Onda 633.

Thanks everyone for replying. Actually I use a 9m UFO v1 and when I ride in 12 knots I feel that already I can use a smaller kite.
The other day (13 knots) I tried a 7m supermodel, but I would like something more playful. And I wouldnt like to buy another 7m having one, despite mine isnt specific for foiling.
Using a 960cm foil, and beginer, just lerning turns.
