I was looking at buying a second hand Sentry bar in almost mint condition. Bar, lines and pigtails looks like new and one bar was from 2022. However the seller writes that the PU coated depower line has significant wear and should be replaced.
I read some older threads about the Sentry bar and there were already complaints back then (2021) about the coating coming off after short use. Have Slingshot not sorted that out yet?
Anyone know what the difference is between V1 and V1.1? Can you see the difference between the versions and when was V1.1 released?

Hi there. I bought a Sentry one and a half years ago and has been my only bar since then. I use it for everything from light wind foiling to big air. I switched my quiver from RPMs to Reach/Orbits and bought a Navigator bar with them, but I just keep using the Sentry. The auto-swivel feature is a game-changer for me. I can't go back.
so far, I haven't had any issues with my depower line. My chicken loop had some cracks in the plastic coating (just esthetic) and I send an email to de dealer from who I bought the bar, and they sent me a new chicken loop 2 days after. Slingshot bars have 2 years warranty, so I reckon a depower line failure would be covered (at least here in Europe). Ask the seller for the original invoice in case you want to make a warranty claim.

I've been using the V1 for over a year and I like it as well especially for auto-swivel. The bar has hard rubber but I use gloves so not much issue for me, but using bare hands could be little rough.
I noticed on the beginning that coating was getting worn. I noticed that these two slots in the bar had some rough surfaces and edges. I took fine round file and smooth everything out what touches the coating. It seems that helped a lot.

I recently got a v1.0 bar, with a good discount over what I found on the 1.1 bar. After looking a lot online, the main difference between the 2 is the center holes in the bar, where depower lines run through. Change was made to handle problems with premature wear because of flat or sharp edges.
This is v1:
and this is v1.1

Is there a metal V loop available for these? That is something I wouldn't go back from.

Just checked Slingshot website but could not find the center piece as a spare part. Seems strange if they had premature wear on the depower line and made a solution on a replaceable part and then did not offer it as a spare part..??

yes, i could not find it either. I almost couldn't even find what the .1 upgrade was and just found out by reading through literature and checking pictures.
Is the part replaceable? I don't know for sure if center hole part itself is replaceable or if its an integral part the bar. Will check mine over the weekend if looks replaceable and post back.

From the pictures I would say, it's not replaceable. Would be difficult to do - but surely possible.
