Kanaha, Maui Nov 2018 I was almost attacked by a small medium size tiger (Pic 2). Nov 2019 I spotted this big whitey off the coast (Pic 1). As a expert diver I know all the shark species very well. Am I afraid of sharks? I should be more afraid driving from Haiku to Kahului than having a windsurfing or kiteboarding session in the Ocean. That being said I usually wear black and white boardshorts and Matt Kinoshita Kazuma shaped a board painted in the same colors, that are by someone considered shark repellent  .

Cheers
Carlo

I must have ridden by this guy/gal a dozen times totally oblivious until I got home and looked at pics. Good size bull shark.

Not unless the circumstances justify it. They definitely warrant respect and attempted understanding. The degree of risk will vary with context.

The single shark impact on my camera array on Sunday. They usually hit it a lot more often.

A big shark off Bathtub Beach. Sharks are out there often enough.

Not afraid, per se, but after finding this video ( last time out I had that song running through my head more than I wanted. For sure I'm aware they're out there even though I've never seen one.
