Steezy Pete - Will he do it? (Road to Megaloop)

Postby VdV » Thu Feb 01, 2024 2:33 pm

I'm thoroughly enjoying the Road to Megaloop series on youtube at the moment, thanks Colin! (And Cohan and Adrian).
It's fun to watch, and there's already a few tips from Cohan that I'll definitely be implementing myself.

So the big question! Do you think Pete will be able to complete the challenge, and perform a megaloop?
Or are we going to see Nick bring out the hairclipper?

Yeah I've been enjoying it too. We watched a few episodes last week while on a kite vacation to give us some encouragement to "grow a pair" for a few kite loops. 🤣

I subscribed to Portrait a couple months ago and like the content.

I want to see some video of Colin and Adrian kiting....👊🏻

I'm still in the first episodes and will vote later on but, from the first episode, I'd go with the "absolutely not option"

Colin videos are amazing. Always fun to watch, however, I should confess that, from someone that is not so fluent in English, it's hard to understand what he's saying sometimes...

EDIT: ok, just watched the second episode and he'll surely make it! :thumb: what a progress

Oops, apparently today wasn’t the last episode.
But it was definitely a good one!

Poll extended for another week.

That loop on the blue 9m, I’d class that as a mega loop even if he didn’t land it clean. Never going to attempt anything like that as my old knees would never recover from a bad injury. Fair play to him, takes some balls and he’s had a few hard crashes. Been fun to watch.

Can someone , who can loop well, explain what Cohan goes on about "keep the kite at 1" when you jump.

I think it's about looping the kite from 12 and not after it's passed 12 and oversent, but would like to understand it better 🤙🏼

Sort of, what he means (I think) is that when jumping you should sheet in and release your edge with the kite slightly before 12. This will indeed lead to the kite being less at the edge of the window and result in a cleaner loop if you decide to crank it.
