I learned to kite in Aruba.
It was some kite shop right at fisherman’s huts don’t recall the name or anything and it was 10+ years ago..
Conditions were: super gusty straight offshore winds, board leash! Control bar with pulleys on the ends and some kid who was supposed to save you in a small boat if you started to blow away.
Perfect setup for “welcome to kiteboarding here is your 1st kitemare” come back soon!

The main school there uses a second spot as well. Which is located on the south east and therefore has onshore wind when you have off-shore at fisherman's hut. You need to rent a car because taxi are f*ing expensive.
Aruba was on my list for January 2024 but decided against it.

I recently returned from Aruba, I must say, the conditions at Fisherman Hut (Offshore side) are incredibly gusty, with winds fluctuating from 10 knots to 25 knots in a matter of seconds. On the other hand, Boca Grandi (Onshore side) offers strong and clean winds, but it comes with 3-4 feet waves and rough seas. While I wouldn't suggest Aruba as an ideal kite destination due to these conditions, it remains an absolutely fantastic vacation spot.
