Question to Takoon Skoop riders regarding Bar size

I use a 65cm-Bar on my Takoon Skoop 17 (12,5 projected) and was wondering what Bar-Size other Takoon Riders use on that kite. I actually never felt that the 65cm-bar would be too short but the German Kite Magazine kite-boarding.de wrote in the recent test of the Skoop 17 that it should be used with the original 80cm-Bar. Does that really make such a huge difference, I mean is it really better to use the 80cm-Bar?

Thanks a lot in advance.

I use that kite alot with a 60cm bar and it works fine for me. No need for 80 cm bar!

How do you like the kite? I am thinking about buying the 10.5 or 12.5 and I can't decide if the 12 (17) will extend my range very much.

Any help is greatly appreciated

Thanks

I like my takoons!

Well, tell us what you use now and what you want out of a light air kite and then maybe some can answer.

The 17 will give you 3-4 knots more low end than the 14.

@hwenn

I really like my Skoop 17 a lot too. It's a real light wind machine and I can hold it very long. It has a superb depower range and I never had any durability issues so far. Just recently bought the 11,6 (8,5) but cant comment on this one yet.

Great kite.

The 80 bar is better in very light wind.
When you are well powered a 60 is ok.
Is all personal preferences. You will jump easier with th large bar as you could turn the kite faster.

I use my 17m Skoop with a 65cm bar & if I can't turn it quick enough then there ain't enough wind. It doesn't work for me unless the wind is 11knots+ (I'm 13.5/14st)

Kite is awsome with the bridle removed! I use it up to 18knots - that is maxed!
