Today we stacked two kites but it fails to fly well. We put the bigger kite upper but the lower kite don't fly very well and stalls. We put 2m lines between kites. I have the following kites:
- How long has to be the lines beteen kites?
- If I put kites with different size in which order they has to be?
Thanks!
is it

put the smaller / faster kite at the top - it has to fly further so needs to be the faster one.
use about 7 meters between kites...
Are these LEI's?

On ARC's and I assume LEI's you put the smaller one on the bottom as it gets stretched out a bit by the top one.
Its recommended that the stack lines be half the span of the leading edge.
On ARC's which like to fly with looser back lines the stack lines can be 1-5 inches longer in the back as well.

Oooops!
Guys be carefull,
stacked two black tips 9,4 once upon a time, and will never do it again.
The two kites started fighting each other with sudden accelerations from one then the other (5 meters between kites).
One kite then overtook the other and flipped right round, making two kites flying in the same direction but pulling against each other, totally independant from the steering lines. This whole setup flew right through the window, and beyond, until it was overhead and upwind of me and then changed direction to charge at me on the ground.
Luckily no major injury or damage aside from a bruised ego, but a whole lot wiser.
Regards.

stack tubekites same size only!
if you wanna try it with different sizes, put the smaller one first and the bigger one on top.
working with arc's, the smaller one's pulling the big one around.
i used 7m lines with 630 and 840 arc, but the lines could have been shorter IMO.

5 meter lines and the top kite needs about 6 inches of leader line on the rears to fly properly with Peter Lynn ARCs. The small kite is attached to the bar, the larger kite is attached to the smaller kite.
For tubes, I wouldn't stack 'em at all! They are too heavy to fly in light winds as it is, they don't launch like ARCs and if the wind's that light and you want to kitesurf that bad, you need foils....like ARCs or bridled foils. You're asking to get seriously injured if you do this...

Has anyone successfully flown for an extended period, stacked tube, LEI, four line inflatable kites? With foils and Arcs, no problem, it is done frequently. With LEI's I am not sure that you can do it for an extended period, I couldn't.
