They said their new website would launch in January 2003 - they only have a few hours left!

Wipika strike me as a company which hasn't quite got its act together.
- Their 2001 mylar kites were atrocious - splitting, delaminating, breaking along seams etc
- Their promised website
- Using black on the leading edge of their kites (with consequent heat expansion problems)
Maybe they lost the plot a bit when the Legainoux bros left???

One could make a list of much worse atrocities for just about any kite brand in existence. Just like kites, I'd much rather the web site arrive late than be exposed to an inferior rush job. Now give us some juicy info to lay our teeth into (ie- the behind the scenes stab you in the back stories of kite companies dukin it out).
Signed,
An unsponsored kiter with no underlying involvement with Wipika except that I love the 8.4 AB which I paid mucho $ for.

My 2001 AB's are still flying great: no delamination etc. & they were obviously superb kites performance-wise.
However, it does appear that Wipika is not leading the way in terms of promotion & advertising which is maybe resulting in it losing its market share. This is what happened to Windsurfer back in the early 1980's when a lot of other companies got into the business of making sailboards.

well, you can say they are really bad kites, but the catman has the "official" hang time record at 9 seconds or so, and this was done with an 8.4 2001 airblast
Andres
p.d. by official y mean that there is a video of a 13 second hang time, but it can't be released

nup...Sebastian "catman" used a first version 6.3 airblast on 40m lines. He got a huge gust which lofted him to about 10-15m and then he just sat there flying the kite back and forth a few times, then came down quite soft for a dry stomp. I saw it, I was in the heat
