Hello friends,
I just would like to report something really strange is going on with the weather down here in Bali. First was the worst monsoon windy season since I leave here 5 years.
We use to get a t least 30-40 good windsurfing days between december and march.
But this year we had only 15!!!
Today we had the first day of easterly wind (dry season) that suppose not to come till June!!!!!!
I never saw in the last 5 years easterly wind in March. I think it have to do with the new forming of El Nino........
As I was not in Bali 6 years ago when was last El Nino does someone remember or can find information on how it will affect the wind? I know about drought, fire and no rain but there are not info from the expert about wind.
We already had an old posting some time in january about the wind no blowing as usual in many part of the world: Canary Island, East Australia, South Africa, Brasil....
Hope to get some expert to answer at my question.
Bye Jankie

I am no expert. But here in Mexico city the weather has been really weird too. Yesterday it rained, and it never rains before May. And the winds have been really weird too. Normally, the good winds start at the beginning of february, they are barely starting right now. It is really weird.

In Hawaii, we've been hearing of El Nino cranking up recently. Here is an recent news article on the subject. Apparantly, El Nino is now confirmed but they are still not sure how strong it will be. Early predictions are mild to moderate.
