I'm a backyard board builder with experience in surfboard foam and polyester resin construction. To date I've built maybe 6 different boards using reshaped surfboards and surfboard resins. This type of construction is probably the most simplist and easiest for the beginner/intermediate builder. Its drawback is that the boards come out much lighter and potentially weaker than factory produced boards. But it's appeal is that there is a ton of old surfboards out there for free just begging to be reshaped, and the whole building process is fairly simple, quick, and uncomplicated. Give it a try!!!
