Hey, does anybody know how to shape EVA foam properly? I'm talking about the soft stuff, the one i got is some childs playmats from walmart or toysrus, sanding barely does anything? Any ideas? I'm putting it on top of a board, and would like to shape the foamtop, to different thicknesses.

thanks

I've used a router to carve grooves into foot-pad foam before. It works fine on flat surfaces that can support the body of the router. I haven't worked out a good way to get it to carve out raised edges around the heel and under the arch of my feet yet. Anyone got a way to do this?

Be careful with the router - they spin fast and can easily cut you up! :thumb:

You can shape EVA foam with a slow turning grinder/sander (less than 5000 rpm) and a 36 or 60 grit disc.

The factories use a band-saw to cut bevels and angles.

Good luck!

Hot wire is also possible.
