TomW, that board looks incredible! I would love to know more about that board, how does it ride and can you really feel the effect of your concaves?

I recon no need for tinkering much if using wood :) Yes, a foam volume is good but durability if wood is better!

Build an Alia for LW, you won't regret.
i just looked up the Alaia...sick concept and looks pretty easy to build. Are there any design specifics that I should incorporate into one for dedicated kiteboarding like more concave or a bit of rocker?
If you do go the Alaia route, IMHO you really should add both bottom concave and rocker.
Both of those elements will really add to the boards wind range, overall feel, rail grip, and even will be nice & snappy in the waves.
- Nose rocker between 5~7 or 8cm's. Tail between 2~3cm's. And deep concave in the back foot area. & kiteboard fins slightly behind the back foot area.

Probably not a 'true Alaia' with these tweaks, but again, very much worth it.
Just my two yens worth :)

For reference/idea's, check out my Kite Paipo thread on the forum, and/or do a google search for "kite paipo".

Your first build, whichever route you go with, will be the steepest learning curve & all boards after will be much improved and easier to build.

Good luck & have fun along the way! :D
