Hi, I am using Balsa for more then a decade without any problems. Since 2004 I mold inject them. The edges are made out of fibre glas injected with the body. The board is made out of carbon. On the picture you can see the top, bottom and the mold of my girlfriends board. The mold its self is also injected. If you have the choice use balsa as core and in no case any type of foam. On a foam board you will find quickly delamination.

I dropped board building completely to make foils, more fun and much more difficult.
