trying to figure out a cost affective , simple, and quality rail for my build.
was skipping through the build forum to get some ideas and see what's working best for people.
sounds like pre-mould PU is the go, and de-gassing is a problem for the PU-pouring stuff.
found an interesting thread about a guy using ABS for his rail.
cutting up old ABS pipe, then heating and shaping it.
also talks about adding acetone to the ABS in a jar to make liquid ABS, and using it as a filler.
here's the thing.......
if Acetone will eventually evaporate......
why not just pour the rails with a batch of liquid ABS????
(pretty sure the 2014 Naish boards had ABS rails didn't they??)
im sure it would take some messing about to get the ABS -> Acetone ratio perfect for quick setting etc.
but could this be done??
interested in your thoughts.
6:30am, first coffee and cigarette for the day.... im gunna go whip some up in the shed before I head to work and see how well it sets.
see how we go??
