Sky good job.. the only thing I found with the rear AOA is how it feels in the water.. more drag or less. changing it 1-2degrees make a big difference.. we have gone from -2 on the stab to -3.5 and you could tell there was more drag at speed but you could life easier.

I could add drag to the model fairly easily from the foil data so maybe once I get my head around this one I'll give it a go

Designed and printed a stabilizer first, since it's smaller and uses less material for my first attempt.

Covered in 3 layers of CF (200g). Vacuum bagged (my pump achieved 26 in Hg) overnight. Came out with some "wrinkles" and excessive resin near the tips. Sanded to 240 grit. Far from perfect but it's a start. Feels very solid and smooth. I will probably do a final hand laid layer for aesthetics.

Looking real high aspect!

Here's a question. Does the mast need to match the wings?

If you have a foil designed for lower aspect wings the speed is lower and the mast shape will be less critical. But ramp up the speed the mast may need to become the limiting factor.

Yes it's high aspect, maybe too much so. I modified the CAD to have a longer chord (not by much), and to have softer contours around the mounting area so the carbon fiber forms better with the surface. Also increased the size of the countersunk holes (as you mentioned before). And finally, I made the winglets bends less sharp, again to make it easier to put the CF on it.

So V2 will be next.

Another update. Bagged the front wing today and sanded it. It looks ok. My question now is: when i place the wing on the counter with the tips touching the counter, and press in the middle, there is flex. I am thinking this is not solid enough and it may need another 2 layers on each side. But I need your opinion, is the wing supposed to flex or not?

some flex is ok. but the stiffer you can get it the better it will perform.. if you look at a jet wing when flying you will see it flex up and down all the time.

Thanks. Will add uni to the bottom and a finishing layer of twill.
