Re-finishing a carbon board?

Postby alexeyga » Thu Jan 12, 2017 4:47 pm

What would you - humble and experienced board builders - use to re-finish a bottom (and possibly - the top) of the carbon board like F-One's?

Given that it's not a bare carbon on the most outer layer, but the graphics inlay.

Epoxy clear coat? Or some uber-tough, nano-cristal deck lacquer?

Out of luck unfortunately. The topsheet for bonding side is Corona treated.

What kind of damage are you trying to fix? Some cosmetic surface scratches or something deeper?

Corona is beer and is cheap at 7-11.

Thanks! So if I got it right, both top and bottom sheets are nothing but plain plastic pre-treated with "corona" for better adhesion with the inner layers? Hence - there isn't any "liquid" finishing coats on either top or bottom surfaces?

Just cosmetic sand-rush and some rub-marks.
