How to build a bar? Just the rod/pole item ~60cm. Anyone done it?

Don't forget to sand the inside of the carbon tubes really well. There is a layer of release agent left from the manufacturing process. If you are only do light sanding pass or skip the sanding you may as well be not using any glue at all because nothing will stick to the inside then.

Lol to late now but looks nice in the first 2 bars (see pic) little holes inside everywhere perfect no probs there but last bar was quite smooth but tons of epoxy over the whole end plus inside then slid over aluminum rod..

Why do a special wrap around the bar and try not to get it tangled and also have extra items/weight on the bar whilst riding just wrap lines externally bar looks better also...anyone else do this

I finished my first attempt of a bar. So far it survived all amateur testing, but before I will take it out on the water I make sure to give it a good test.

It is a carbon tube that has a very decent amount of Epoxy in the middle and some at the bar ends to keep it floating. At 50cm it weighs in at about 120grams.

I have yet to put some lines on it and cannot really make my mind up between Liros DC301 (SK99) and Liros DC300 (SK75). Is one or the other clearly suited better? I know the 301 is slimmer and hence more lightweight. But I am not aiming at the lightest bar, so weight really is of no concern for the lines.

I made some custom line sets with SK99 and really found it to be a monumental improvement in feel compared to the stock lines, which I believe were made from SK75. Much more direct, crisp, and you can feel the difference in the way the kite behaves a bit with extremely thin/low-stretch line.

Yep I like the SK99 as well, but it is harder to splice, the weave is tighter so harder to bury the tail, its doable just takes a bit more effort.

that has nothing to do with the sk99 fibres itself, totally depends on the way the manufacturer weaves, prestretches and coats the lines.

What sk99 lines are you using?

Sounds like I will get the SK99 (Liros DC301-power and DC201-steering). I have only recently started splicing, but I found it very easy. So if it gets a little more demanding I think I can handle that.
