Ook Core fully shaped ready for epoxying/carbon fibers and to be heatpressed.....Red and yellow Rails Will be contrasting the black carbon so will be probably nice ;). Have to think of graphic first/now....Initially thought to call her Helios. ..sun in Greek. ..but now I am thinking. .Black Sun ...

Thanks! Offcourse I do :) with steel adjustable mold/aluminium/rockertable.
Unfortunatelly all the nice core work...will be lost under the blackness of carbon....and only red yellow rails will be visible....

That is a shame :( I know a lot of kiters who admire wood grain on the boards. When done with a fiberglass, the craftsmanship is clearly visible as well as any irregularities:)

Your yellow rails will soon lost the colour under the Sun, particularly if made of epoxy (looks like epoxy rails). Red colour is way better. But nothing can beat the PU rails in colour :)

Thats a shame I know.! :)Wood is so nice and a lot of builders are in market with only wood look sides..and have to admit some are great. But I have other plans....

Yeah the rails are epoxy with filler and pigment. I discussed the issue of discoloration from sun exposure...and sailman told m that's "safety yellow" and with the epoxy UV you wont have that... (*pigmennting normally will lower UV protection and epoxy specs ). Still under the carbon will be safe. Now in matters of the irregularities...hahaha is not finished it needs a little bit of sandind..... if your eye see something in the photos....:))Anyway I will soon reach the accuracy of the cnc...LOL

Anyway I have to see the behavior of carbon and ok the rails all around the board will show nice...and had to make gold logo?!?!. I finally made it but had a number of fails. I believe that I had to as a carbon black colour will look better with gold or silver detail....Anyway i spent some days making it...

This is the fourth board and I have used for rails : ABS and UHMW and pigmented epoxy. I really hate ABS, had so many issues applying it on outilne....and preparing the railsides before heatpress again..still the result was so nice!!! The UHMW has issues when sand it after having warm it to give shape..espesially in the tips..Epoxy is ok..but I am not 100% happy for the impact bahavior...I wonder. And add the cost...I spent so much epoxy and without any spill....So I decided to go to ABS for next one..since the best surface and appearance. PU rails that you talk about is the one orange / green you have applied..complete transparent? I like it and maybe is more easy to apply as the look flexy...ABS is so hard!!!! Where can I find??

Ah ok than, with a UV stabiliser might be ok. Will be awesome to see gold and black carbon, very nice.

I am not sure, are you asking where to find ABS, but looks like you used it before? Or you asking for a PU? If PU look in here:

Full carbon and heavy duty..DARK SUN..By HYPERION, laminated/Hot pressed yesterday night. Got her out early morning...she is still with protective sheets but looks perfect..she wont be glossy as thick hard bottom/top sheets but the 3D effect is visible..:) Anticipating seeing the red and yellow rails after cutting/finishing!
