Hi All,

Just completed my latest build. Very happy with the result, hoping it rides as good as it looks!! :D

Process was to precast skins using resin infusion on a pane of glass. Was quite a bit of work, but the result makes it worth it.

Skins were then placed on either side of the core, and infused again:

Board measurement is 141 X 42
PVC core, stainless steel inserts
Final bare weight is 2.33kg

Still some improvements I can make, but getting there on the 5th attempt :-?

Thanks. Sorry for the slow response, been crazy busy at work.

Below is a pic of the core. I used a PVC foam, which I wont be using going forwards.I'll be using Airex for the next build, Airex is easier to shape cleanly. You can see below the PVC tend to chip under the router. The rails are two part Polyurethane poured into a routed channel.

Below is the stack prior to the infusion of the first shin:

This is the infusion of the core with the skin on either side, not too much to see:

No.
I've tried CNC'ing before, and it actually doesn't work.
The process requires a lot of setup, so unless you want the ability to be able to "re-use" your saved setup files, its not in my opinion worth the effort.
I shaped the rails by hand, using a belt sander and I made a jig to trim the tips (router running along rails).
