Using bodyboard with stringers?

I was thinking of cutting up an old body board and putting stringers in to strengthen and stiffen it. Anyone else done this?

Once up and riding well, its just a foot platform.

Any pictures would be great!

Saw pics on one where the body board was cut up and a fiber glassed core added then foam glued back on outside to resemble the original board.

I was going to. But it would have taken more effort than laminating some bamboo i had lying around.

You have to be well-powered as it is hard to get up on a short board. Once you are up and going, it can be tricky, at least for me since I'm used to regular boards, but yes, for fun its doable, but not for beginners. I was able to successfully ride it with different mast lengths.
