This method is wasting less materials than using surfboard blank.
And I prefer wood core so I can leave it clear, no painting or CF to cover ugly green foam core...
But I am wondering about ecological impact of using Balsa.....

Nice work and shape again! What will your final layup be? Sealing the wood from water migration will be important as compared to marine foams like corecell.

Stevez,

How did you build it? Is it hollow with span wize rib/spacers? Then you put in Cork rails?
It looks really ghetto. But what the heck, if it works, then that's what matters!
That one you should call the lunch tray or the cutting board...

Any of you guys know of an alternative to US fin box but thinner like 20mm?
