Yeah agree for sure...not a big deal to make this set equal and perfect...cause have 3 other bar sets if this one gets gibbled... thanks a lot for the pointers :thumb:

To keep both power lines of the same length, you could also use two eye splices on both power lines. That way you can also easily swap lines if you want shorter ones and wouldn't have to exchange all of your lines. Then use the upper eye splice to include the safety.

Or, as mentioned in post #12 of this thread, it could be possible to splice the safety line into the SFS. I have rarely read about a Y splice, but I don't see it being significantly weaker than an eye splice, as it could also use the brummel lock. This way you wouldn't need to do that much splicing (plus you can still do the above version later on if you feel like it).

You can also use Ozone's method: double overhand knot in a separate piece of line where you put the power line through and then bury the loose ends in the power line.
Is this for the front line flag stopper ball half way up the front line? I'm trying to find an image of how Ozone attach their stopper ball.

I'm thinking - just open up the front line, insert a short length of line with a knot at the end, bury it/splice it in.

Cheers.

Yeah you're right that's how to attach the stopper to prevent the control bar from sliding all the way to the kite. This post tho is about the stopper near the bracket near the V on the lines, near the control bar. Confusing that ozone uses two stoppers.

dude you already know how to do it

I actually quit using stoppers like this. More spaghetti I know but it keeps my lines cleaner.

for this purpose you dont need to splice inside the power lines because the load is so low when you use the QR so just part the weave and put a stopper on there. There is minimal loss of strength when you this because the weave doesn't have to change angle very much.

Thanks for that - was just curious how they've done it. I kite solo in some pretty remote places so ideally want something that might have a fighting chance to re-ride if it all goes wrong - hence the stopper. Coming from years of 5 line safety but determined to ditch it.

It's refreshing to see how many people are modding their bars and lines these days :D

wish edt” posted that pic sooner.. now understand how simple it is...definitely doing that on second bar :thumb: that be fine to do on regular kite line ? Or just that 3mm Dyneema? Does the line diameter matter or no :?:

I thought about using a simple knot but that would reduce the breaking load seriously.
Would this work for you ?...it's from from Peter Lynn kite parts
Looks like it would clamp on tight on a front line without weakening or damaging it

Just what I was wondering. Asked Ozone for a pic of their in-line ball but nothing so far...
