wish edt” posted that pic sooner.. now understand how simple it is...definitely doing that on second bar :thumb: that be fine to do on regular kite line ? Or just that 3mm Dyneema? Does the line diameter matter or no :?:
You don't want to do this if the stopper ball itself carries load. If it carries load then you need to end the line with a lark's head and lark's head it as discussed previously. This is just for stopping the control bar from shooting up more than 10 meters up towards the kite after the QR is pulled.

I thought about using a simple knot but that would reduce the breaking load seriously.
Would this work for you ?...it's from from Peter Lynn kite parts
Looks like it would clamp on tight on a front line without weakening or damaging it

That might work. I could clamp it on the safety line and thereby not put any stress on the front line. Thanks!
I also found this:

It should also work. I may end up building something like this on my own. Since it is just a stopper with no critical function any part will do.

Could also do this... then attach safety line to the ring or use ring as stopper... :thumb: Very simple ...

Yes, that also works.
I don't like the cutting of the line, the additional splices and yet another ring. But if you like to switch up the line lengths anyway this may be just right.

I like your wooden bar (and rubber band). Any more pics and advice for building a bar out of wood?

 that is for externally wrapping up the lines instead of trying to somehow wrap it around the carbon bar with no bar ends...

I bought some of these of knotless stopper balls and installed one on my Ozone front line and on only my second session after the install my front line broke right at the stopper ball! It was installed per the picture. Note: There is a sharp ridge on the ball between two of the holes where the line passes across. I am not sure if the sharp ridge is why it broke or if it is the way the lines load across each other. I contacted Kiteboarding.com about my line breakage issue and my concerns about the sharp ridge and got no satisfactory response. Use at your own risk!! I would be interested if someone had a load cell to do some testing on lines with this stopper ball to see what % reduction in strength it has on the lines and possibly some fatigue life testing.
