Less Foil Drag...Faster?

Postby ap888 » Sat Feb 02, 2019 5:04 am

Will sanding this down to make a better transition... increase glide/speed will it affect strength very much if at all...will the glide/speed even be noticeable...it’s a slingshot Hover NF2 by the way...is there a purpose for this being abrupt is it better :?:

Easy way to see: use some surf wax to build a fairing/cone behind the edge and ride it, then remove and try again, see if there’s a difference. Theoretically it might be better, but no guarantee

no
its a nice allround foil, with lots of stability and lowend, but its not a "speedster"
just ride it and have fun

what bwd said.

I think you'll notice the difference, but try it first before modding your foil.

, but its not a "speedster
Also this, got my first ever rides on one gliding along 50-100 yards, but when i wanted more, it was time for something else. Or so i thought, at least (still not great at foiling, but now i can kook out at higher velocity)

Tried with silicone a while ago but wasn’t satisfied with how smooth it turned out... if it’s even slightly bumpy will most likely slow it down...but yeah surf wax good idea for sure have to try that

It will be slightly more efficient, but will you notice? Not sure.

Skipped the testing phase could have went more gradual but other side was getting close to where mast slides in..its the little things that make a big difference :naughty: ...

Now just make it weigh 1/2 what it does and you'll be all set!
