Tough to be objective now that you've made a permanent change. Gotta try and be honest with yourself about what or if you feel the difference. If it's not subjectively quite obviously better, was it worth doing?

Wax would have made a good experiment as you could have gone back and forth a few times to see if you actually can feel it. Going from riding it with the wax smoothing that bit for a while to get used to it and then removing it would have likely given better insight.

Not trying to be critical, as I've made plenty of mods to gear over the years. The one thing I can tell you is that even if it improves performance, it generally hurts resale. Make a change like that and you generally commit to owning it forever more. Might be able to sell it local, but your ability to sell it online just went way down.

I'm interested to hear if you can feel a difference.

Winter is for gear tinkering...…. I totally get that.

Back to back with stock..... you'll know for sure.

you would be surprised how much difference it makes to eliminate a tiny source of drag. I'm sure everyone who has foiled suddenly felt their foil slow down dramatically tipped the foil up and noticed it was just a single blade of grass

edt....agree for sure had that happen once not much grass or weeds in the lake here but when it came along for the ride couldn’t figure it out for a little while...should notice the difference

I've had days on the Atlantic where the outflow from the Chesapeake bay was visibly a different temp/salinity/dirtiness and riding through it on the foil felt like going from fully powered to stuck in quicksand and about to drop the kite. It was really remarkable actually, and that wasn't event debris, just differences in water quality.
