3d printed titanium inserts

What up mofo's

I'm about to hit go on getting some 3d printed titanium inserts for my mutant build.

Pricing is curiously not stupid rediculous at $45 nzd per insert.

Give me your thoughts on design improvement of the insert.
The insert hole spacing is 20mm apart. M6x1.0 thread.

i'll go with the simple KISS method. - titanium flat bar -
just a few gram more.....

That's a good resource man, thanks.

I first tried to get some bar/sheet locally but no dice. Its cheaper for Me to get the parts 3d printed that procure flat or sheet.

Oooohhhh... Getting funky now.

Check out rev 2. More optimized for 3d printing... less material... more surface area for resin binding..... general design wankyness.

Would you trust a 3D printed part rather than a machined part for jumping especially the extreme conditions you have? I’ve pulled straps out of machined brass inserts and Chinook plastic inserts. I would only consider a reliable and proven brand stainless steel insert.

Yes I do. These threads will be stronger than sheet metal laser cut 316 part with a grain structure ar 90% to the thread.

I will be your crash test dummy! let us see if it works!....

Last one looks good.
Are the joiners just to make it one physical part to reduce production cost? I'f they are meant to be structural I'd extend them slightly past the ends.

Pretty much to make it one physical part rather the 4 individual parts. Makes it easier for the build. Also once the resin is cured the joiners will also take a little torque load when doing up the threads.

Side note. This will be my first 3D printed metal part. I've leaned it up and chucked in the honeycomb just to see what's possible and effective. Also, you pay by the points of grams for the material. So the more material you can loose the cheaper it is.
