Hi this short rope seems to be double spliced xz although it's small:

The pic is from the BRM CCS-bar. I mean the rope with the pin in the middle with the ball around it.
How do I put the rope two times through itself, especially because it's "core tunnel" is even small for one tail spliced in?

Maybe I do not understand your problem but to me one line just looks like loop splices at each end with a short bury with a knot put into the bury to keep it in place and make the lines in question shorter for a compact set up. The line on the pin just looks like a full length bury with knots. Sorry I have not seen one of these rigs in the flesh, and therefore, I may be misinterpreting the photo but it just looks like normal splicing to me.
Regards Herman

I know what you mean wavy - I run into this every once in a while making pig tails. I'd be interested to know how others handle it as well. I fade the ends of both tails a little more than normal so they overlap a bit, then wrestle with the wire until I can pull it through. I've never found an "easy" way. I don't make the tail long enough to go the whole distance.

Is this what you mean? (Before the tails are pulled into the main weave)
If so I think it is just a case of finding some dyneema with a fairly loose weave and using a Fid that is exactly the correct size.

@Faklord: yeah that's what I mean. Sure you can shorten the tails and make them much thinner, but then the workload would be much less.
So I'm interested how others handled this!

Talking short rope loops at both ends, not thin flying lines:
With practice you can make the 2 tails butt together and avoid the need to taper. Choosing a loose weave and overlapping the tails is unlikely to add significant strength imho but may be aesthetically appealing.
Knotting a short bury may negate the need for stitching or brummel and shorten line, at the cost of reduced strength, but dyneema is so strong in decent thickness that the reduced max braking load is not an issue in general kiting. It is more a case of ease of handling and capacity for wear.
Like a lot of things you have to gain a bit of experience before you get confidence in your own work. To start with find a tree or similar where you can safely hang or bounce up and down on your splices and it will soon build your confidence.
It also takes a while to appreciate where the loads are, for example, if the loop is to be larks headed it is interesting to speculate whether you need a tail at all or is there enough friction in the larkshead and what have birds got to do with it anyway!

I worry that the bury is either too short on a double splice, or too difficult to do as pictured. An alternative in some situation is to make a double-ended splice in thinner rope, but making it twice as long so that the inner lines don't need to overlap. Then just fold it in half, so at one end you have two spliced loops and at the other end you have the bend. It depends on your exact application whether this is useful of course, but I have found it handy sometimes...

The bury in the pic is way too short and it will slip. You need to stitch it.

@foilholio: even if it's brummel lock spliced?

Agreed.
The photo was only intended to confirm what the op was asking about.
This was easy to do and only took a couple of minutes.
To finish it off i would cut the tails down, pull them into the weave, have a good hang on it then machine sew (zig-zag) with several passes through the machine.
And no I wouldn’t rely on those tails with a Brummell splice.
