Truly stunning finish, I love the different weaves you've used and the way you used the interlaced strips of UD. Fantastic craftsmanship. Thanks for sharing.

artist level.

Can you fill us in a little about the performance qualities? Box wing looks cool, what are the benefits over a more traditional wind design?

During the study on the basics of aerodynamics, I discovered the boxwing or infinite wing configuration and I focused my activity on that. The aim of this particular configuration is the elimination of the tip vortex that you can find at the end of every wing profile. At this point high and low pressure come into contact and generate energy dissipation by turbulence, this is the reason why the planes have a lot of different configurations of wingtip. But, if you do a closed wing profile this problem doesn’t exist.
Whit this configurations you also have no problem whit ventilation. If during your run the foil flight too narrow the water surface some air could be sucked in by the depression on the top of the wing. This cause the stall of the wing and the fall of the kiter. In this configurations there are no problems because if the top wing stall, there is the bottom one that still fly, so no problems for the kiter (you can see this phenomenon well shown at min 2:35 of my old video

).

The "box" HF is around for decades ;)

Wakeboarders used it with aluminium foil, circular shape if remember well.

I doubt you can eliminate tip vortices as they are fundamental to producing lift. You would likely just influence their shape position and speed. Less tight and fast would be less likely to form a gas.

Yes, of course. The concept is around 1hundred years old, and there are many different applications.

May be is better that you search for some info on the net about infinite wings or box wings, for sure the concept behind will be well explained than I could.
