the good thing is that when closing the case there is a good amount of air which makes it float!

Totally agree these guys go above and beyond and with their new wetsuit mode they are targeting an even bigger market! Will give it a try soon!

I gave the Surfr app a go for the first time yesterday and came away really impressed. I used my everyday iphone 7 (Put it in a waterproof cover) in wet suit mode on the low sensitivity setting and I will have to say it seemed to be accurate. I always figured these apps and devices over exaggerated height but it seemed to be right on. It tracked everything I did well and provides vibrations after each jump to indicate your height since it was stuffed inside my wet suit. My phone is obviously older and it used very little of the battery for the hour or so I had it on. The best part it didn't cost anything. I use trace snow for snow skiing and it works every bit as good as that app. Overall I highly recommend for an easy no non sense app to track your sessions.

Still waiting on the new case, but sure the wetsuit mode is already promissing! Had a few session and seems to be close to my Woo.

Have started using surfr in wetsuit mode - seems excellent as far as I can tell, difficult to judge accuracy but jumps are pretty much what I expected. Previously used Apple Watch Session app - always freezing, misses jumps and inaccurate on the low side, plus Trace tracker until it broke - good bit of kit but jumps seemed inaccurate on the high side.
Overall - excellent app, feel guilty I haven’t paid anything, but much prefer it inside the wetsuit than on the board.

I used the surfr app for the first time today. I loved it, speed , height , gps tracking, everything seemed spot on. I bought a waterproof phone bag from Amazon, mounted with high tack velco( made it the same size as bag around 3x7 inches). No leaks, velcro held solid after an hour of chop and small jumps. Only issue was phone touch screen was sensative to water and app closed on me. I am going to put a thin layer of plexy over the screen to kill the sensitivity. I will definitly purchase the case when available........overall experience was great...

Update....I just downloaded an app(touch lock lite) that shuts down the touch screen, this should solve the problem.

Really loving this app already...yes there is still work to be done, but taking into consideration these guys dont get paid at all this is mindblowing. Last weekend also used the wetsuitmode and when finished there seemed to be a "sketchy" jump. It indicated it itself and showed the jump flow to allow me to judge whether it was a real jump or indeed an issue. Really wonderfull, hoped this graph was available for all jumps really liked that.
Also WETESTKITES made a review comparing WOO and SURFR, both pretty close (in favor of SURFR if I read correct) https://www.wetestkites.com/2020/10/29/ ... ning-data/

Dont get me wrong, also still enjoy my WOO also because of the community, but the new features are only available with a phone as well and you need to pay quite some money. Will be using the WOO / Apple watch combo soon, that did look really good too in first tries at home.
