Isn't it also better to have the line organizer fail instead of the power line? If the power line is still ok you can flagout without problems.
and again:

Normal use:
The wear of the flying line sitting in its seat is much less, when it sits in a dynema seat.
Metal (even a simple ring) causes much more abrasion to the flying line (sleeve). You kept that in mind?

Safety event:
The lockline (or organizer line) is not under special Load during the event.
The flying line is under load during safety event - which is a good thing, cause slipping is easy for the lockline.
The lockline is just pulled by the snipping barsystem and is "hold" just by the resistance of the slipping itself (with is almost nothing):
There is nothing to put a special load on the lockline, it can freely move outwards.

So the test of Herman is interesting (must be good, even Bear Grylls uses this trick :naughty: ), but fortunately it isn't comparable to what we are talking about, in this setup.

Ok, time will show. I'll report my longtime experiences.

Interestingly I have some, already: I used a safety, made of a small nut, kept by a steel chain element, wounded by a thin dynema line, to protect the flying in its seat.
Restult:
No abrasion on the dynema/dynema seat, but some on the dynema/metal (inner) side of the 'lock apparatus'. Still worked for a season for me, until the metal part cut the little wound lines from the inner side.

You'll find that apparatus here (which I don't recommend any more, cause the actual is waaaay better):

Referencing this post, as a marker for a (very) good idea:

viewtopic.php?f=107&t=2406356&p=1099276#p1099276

Just one remark for remembering: Instead of gluing a low friction ring to the carbon, I would like to drill a little hole into the carbon and bolt a ring.
Result would be that you can steer it up to 90Degrees, without squeezing the depower line (cause Ring can turn)

Harsh maneuvers will be possible together with powering/depowering action.

I did that on one of my bars, and it works.

I use it for my biggest foilkite for that I need to give maximum steering impulse. - Tom

Where did you get the grip from ?
Bycycle foam grips (20mm)
Working for a year now, without tear.
Double sided tape, wetted with nitro let's slip it into position. This gets now a little loose, but still working.
The line handlers of North bars 2010-2012 are fixed with 10mm cap 4mm hole rivet, Alu is good, VA also.
Hi Kiter_from_Germany,
Can you please send a link for the foam? I’m not finding anything online!
Thank you in advance!

Safety in Use.jpg
Hello together,
here a little screenshot from the described sleeved microhole safety in use.
I see no wear since the last 10 or so autum sessions.
Remark: You see the 90° turn of the flying lines going through the Microholes first and then connected to saftey line on one side and the other to a little sleeve only.

I would say: It works as expected - I like it.

I have created and tested Evans solution for a custom line organizer without a metal part, described in the Infexion thread

viewtopic.php?f=1&t=2406129&start=180

Awesome- one of the best tips I have from this forum. Thanks Evan, you are a genius.

See picture, but still experimenting with the knots and not yet having the most simple setup. I have spliced two separate loops and put them together interlocking (Evan has the two interlocking loops in a ring). The front line where the safety line (see my red line) is attached is locked. Reliable. And release works great, there is little friction on dyneema. If you do not pull the safety several times a session it should be lasting a long time with minimal wear. Cheers - Tom

Due to the fact that microsleeve seat and safety work pretty well,
I changed my storm setup to this system, because of the high versality (self land option, line attachments and so).

My storm kites are Rebels, so I designed 5th line system.
The 4 lines use the same microsleeve than 4liner Bar, the 5th connected through a sleeved pigtail with microsleeve at safety inlet.

Because of everything sleeved, you can rearrange the setup for back to 4line mode pretty easyly:
Reconnect the safety line from the 5th back to a steering line. I always do that because I like the symmetrical load on the steering line connectors (they are made from one line with microsleeve on both ends) always.

For easy changing of safety systems and easy replacement of equal length spare lines, I put little extensions in steering lines to compensate the height of the safety system:

My bar I’m using (mostly but not only) for foiling on my 10m.
Started life as the bar far 2008 F1 bandit 9m.

Uses Infexion QR
Depower line is spliced below the cleat so it is easily replaceable - sorry can’t recall whose good idea that was.

Has a 3:1 depower which I really used to like when I was using a chicken loop. I have short arms and would run out of depower without using the trim a lot. With the Infexion QR I get about 6” of depower back and I almost never touch the trim. I use a big fat line here so it’s easy to grab.

I copied Evan’s front line attachment and single line safety. I had the knot pull thru twice so added the stopper ball. Works like a champ!

I used clear PU tube cover on the safety line. Keeps it from wrapping in or around the cleat. It’s a tight fit where it’s spliced so I don’t worry about sand and not loaded anyway.
