The strange part is there was also a bulge on the top side of the board under the deck pad. Perhaps it is due to broken yarns but will only show up when the board gets hot out in the sun. Or maybe it is just an air bubble between the deck pad and the PVC? Or it could be the bending of the fin box had the effect of causing a small bulge on the top. I don't know.
The bulge on the top was most likely due to the pressure built up at the bottom, between the dropstitch skin and the fin box, pushing the dropstitch skin.
But I still don't get how there was a leak at the bottom if there is no seam there?
You beat me to it about the top bulge.
My guess though on the leak is a moment's slip in concentration from the worker scuffing the under side before gluing the fin. With a power tool!
Didn't think of that! But having seen plenty of times the working conditions in different factories in China... I wouldn't blame that poor fella working 12 hours a day, 6 days a week and living in a dorm few thousand km away from his family

Now that the summer (little or no wind) season is coming to an end, I finished up v2 of the coanda disruptor for my f-one.

Looks good RTL.
My F-one inflatable has been taking a long rest after I couldn't find small quantities of dropstitch material and built myself a fibreglass/EPS board instead. I found the F-One limiting due to the deep tuttle and wanted to transition to the track box and use a longer mast. Shorter board and longer mast definitely the way to go for waves. But I'll maybe hang on to the inflateable over summer and see if I can get some adult family members to try it...
