www.skshapes.com has one,
SK LatchPin
minimalist release system, simple and well executed for us$40. check it out!
I ended up contacting Stan at sk shapes and he custom made me a release exactly what I’m looking for

Here’s some pics of the end result.

Nothing DIY here but well worth the price
But this is a pull release, isn’t it?
Your slider rope will go through the ring I guess...

I prefer Infexion system from Evan! 👍🏽
Yes it’s a pull release. I figure it’s solid in combination with my dynabar slider release

How does the infexion work?

The Infexion is a push release.
I`m loving it. My ball&pin QRs weren`t bad, but finding the right bended and strong enough pins was not easy. Always had a big torque on the pin, pin snapped on my fingers, unknown release force, reinstalling when swimming not easy, no unswiveling the safety etc. For one or two foil bars okay(then running out of safe pins), but with the Infexion, i installed now on every 6 bars i use a ring & ball at the end of the depower rope and have now a reliable , cheap and equal system.
The only downside ( for me) i have to build a few proper ball solutions to avoid the costs of the Infexion printed ring-balls, to make the pressing of the ring into the claws of the Infexion easier.

You are not the first to dismiss the idea of the infexion without actually understanding how it works. I think many are missing the uniqueness of the design: standard push away, but connected to the harness so you don't need one per bar. You need to get your head around that to see the benefit I think.

I bought a Frog (https://www.kong.it/en/2-products/items ... frog-cable). It's really nice concept though expensive for a carabiner clip. It doesn't release under tension, so will not work as a quick release.

That looks like a much more robust and reliable solution!
I messed around using pins and parell beads. In the end I went with Infexion & have loved it - I can now use the whole bar throw. Which you will get with yours as well.

I have a small Antal ring inside the 2 fender washers to keep it running free on the rope - probably overkill.
knot_moving, how is the inner part of this mecanism? The part inside the printed part...

I made an 3D printed QR. I have been using it for half a year now.

Thanks your build is really well documented and you have gone through prototyping and load testing on a bench.

In my various diy attempts, I realized depending on the shape and angle of the release pin, results were very variable.
This was due to the torque on the pin under load, if high release then force and danger for the fingers was increased.
The QR "handle" needed to be very tight to hold the pin straight, which conflicted with leaving max clearance for the flagout line to slide.

When I dismantled an "old" cab mushroom release from 2011 I saw how well designed it was, although simple the space for depower tube, pin location etc was very neat.

So is your handle + QR body solving this in the sense that the position of the pin is very well defined in your design ?

Also could you comment on the carbon lever : carbon fiber is great to resist elongation, but how does it behave with very localized effort in the QR ?
Maybe other fiber like kevlar could be strong for this application ( more restant than carbon for localized mechanical constraint like compression or puncture )

The simple lever release is very appealing for its simplicity ( like a pelican hook ) and replacing the metal by some lighter material might be safer for the hands.
Some other people on this forum spotted that a brand markets a textile + composite lever snap shackle :
https://www.nodusfactory.com/fr/accueil ... it-m_t_d12
They don't mention the material for the lever, looks like plastic charged with fiber - it whistands high loads but not suited to a kite QR directly.

Thanks again for sharing your build
