i have made up some lines for my north bar copying the 2018 bar set up where you can add in the 5th.
everything line up and everything was looking good, however since making these lines i have been able to look over a clickbar and noticed the 3 different coloured tabs for adjusting the V splits which according to duotone bar manual would suit my older rebels better.
from the top of the chicken loop (full power) the 2018 bars split at 6.55m, the click bars split at 6.45m(red), then 8.3(Blue), 10.36(black) so there is a difference of roughly 3m for the highest split.
so my question is...is there any reason i cannot recreate the black attachment point on my 2018 set up by adding in the same loop to 1 of the centre lines, then, i thought if i added in the blue 1 loop to the other centre line it would equal the lengths out, then i could just adjust the steering lines to suit.
obviously the click bar is fixed at the centres so the measurements i mentioned above don't change whereas using a quad bar they would change by what ever the length of the trim was (approx 20cm)....this is slightly confusing!!.. as the lines are all fixed at the original 6.5m point i presume i don't need any type of stopper ball or would there be an issue when turning the kite?...starting to confuse myself more now!!

For Duotone/North split points you should be measuring from the kite down to find the correct split points (longer lines moves the split point away from you). The blue and black attachment points were there depending on whether you added the optional line extensions (blue for 22m black for 24m and a difference of 2m between them). If measured correctly it should be 14m down from the kite for the 5th line bars.
Hope that helps?

no, i didn't know that, to be honest it's quite difficult to find any info on line lengths online, i ended up digging my old bars out to measure each one separately. does this vary from years? i have a few different bars and from memory at least 2 were 12.5 down.
i will measure down 14m and see how that corresponds to the measurement i took already. cheers

Hello
I had similar problem so emailed local shop. They sent me a Dtone jpg file with V height. Do you know how to upload jpg onto post??
Anyway, its a picture of clickbar and says- For all models, all years, either 20,22,24m lines the height is 658cm from top of bar when bar all the way at bottom touching QR chicken loop to Y
If you don't believe me (that's ok
) i recommend call/email your local or there's Dan from Doutone on this forum not sure exactly user name but maybe search/message him.

The split point for both quad and 5 line bars changed in 2014 (might have been on the 2015 bar). It moved by a couple of meters then. The official Duotone/North rep gave out the exact differences in this thread
