Find someone who can give you a quote, maybe Moti Levi, by the looks it could be a few hundred Oz dollars. Probably not worth fixing unless you can do it yourself. Pansh are cheap, probably not much more than the repair will cost you.

I would charge you $350 looking at those pics. Why so much? I am like a mechanic who hates BMWs. I will fix it but be ready to pay.

Open trailing edge seam and it will become clear how these things are put together.

A tip. When doing the repair you want to avoid distorting the fabric. You can line up the pattern of the ripstop reinforcing threads so they make nice squares. You can also put in pen marks as way points.

Line up your way points and tack it together with small pieces of masking tape or ordinary household tape. You can then go ahead and tape the other side with spinnaker tape.

I used to oversew the edges of the tape, mainly to avoid peeling in contact with sand. I used a fairly long straight stitch.

I can only repeat the trick I mentioned earlier, which in my opinion makes a huge difference to the ease of taping tears back together: a sticky board. Here is a picture of the insides of an zone race kite (no wonder that they break!). The brown packing take is sticky side up.

Cheers for the tip.

Interesting, I am not sure we have brown take that wide. Maybe I can make something up.

This was my first experiment. Nowadays I just use lots of thin strips of double-sided basting tape (the kind that sailmakers use) which is better.
